fleetworks is a London-based consultancy which develops code for websites and desktops, using javascript, PHP, and RealBasic for Mac (Os8,9,X) and Windows (98-XP). This site contains a couple of examples.

The footnotes and webthreads system for the browserBook version is self-organising - entries can be added, edited or deleted, without needing to edit other entries, which renumber automatically and fall into line. It uses a bog-simple database in javascript to do this.

Another example, Googly, is a free version of Deskbar which works with Apple Macs or any default browser. It collects no user information of any kind, and has no connection with Google Inc, although source code has been to sent to Google to check for safety and the complete lack of spyware or scumware.

Paid access to the full version of the browserBook is controlled through a cookie generated from the unique vocabulary of Melville's Moby Dick. No other cookies or other tracking devices are used.

We have also recently provided all the php and javascript code for search, lightboxes, picture collections and multiple picture uploads on fotolibra.com's public Internet picture library.

Previous clients include: fotolibra.com, Moneywise (Readers' Digest), Springboard (Williams Lea), United Nations Organisation Vienna (UNOV), and the New Statesman magazine. Our experience, goes back to Netscape 1 and building the first UK weekly magazine and classified ad site (New Statesman).

We also research contextual learning technologies.
